Forecast Discussion:
Moving into the weekend with windy, cool conditions, as our latest cold front spills colder air into the Brazos Valley Sunday morning. Winds blow 10-15 mph with gusts upwards to 25 mph through the overnight hours of Saturday across the Brazos Valley. Sunday continues to see those windy conditions, alongside drier air, creating enhanced fire danger through the start of the week across the Brazos Valley. Please avoid outdoor burning through the next few days, as any open flame or spark can ignite quickly and spread, causing grass or wildfires across the region. The Brazos Valley is already dealing with dangerously dry, drought ridden conditions.

After a long month of unusually warm weather, seasonably, cool air is expected across the Brazos Valley to begin the week. Temperatures dip into the middle-to-upper 30s across the Brazos Valley Sunday morning. Highs quickly rebound around the 60° mark Sunday afternoon, which is average for this time of the year. Winds finally relax Sunday evening, as skies clear and colder air moves into the region. In turn, temperatures tumble around freezing (32°) Monday morning across the Brazos Valley. We’ll likely stay a few degrees above freezing for many of us either way, but a light freeze and patchy frost is possible across the Northeast Brazos Valley. The colder air doesn’t stay around long, though, as high pressure brings highs back into the 80s by midweek.

5-Day Weather Outlook:
Sunday: High ↓ 60. Low 33. Sunny, Cooler.
Monday: High 61. Low 35. Sunny.
Tuesday: High 71. Low 55. Sunny.
Wednesday: High ↑ 82. Low 61. Mostly Sunny.
Thursday: High 80. Low 48. Mostly Sunny.
