BURN BAN UPDATE: Numerous counties in the Brazos Valley remain under countywide burn bans because of the drier weather causing widespread drought conditions in the area. The following counties under burn bans are:
•Austin
•Brazos
•Burleson
•Grimes
•Lee
•Milam
•Robertson
•Walker
•Washington
Houston and Madison Counties lifted their burn bans on Friday, October 2, 2026. Leon, Montgomery, and San Jacinto Counties aren’t under local burn ordinances as well.
Outdoor burning is prohibited within these counties. Even if your county isn’t under a burn ban, outdoor burning is discouraged. If you plan to burn, please contact your local law enforcement agency to let them know in case it is reported.
