Forecast Discussion:
Warmer and windy weather is expected the next couple of days across Central and Southeast Texas. A southerly wind will allow lower-level moisture to increase humidity, but it won’t be enough to help alleviate fire danger. Winds race 15-20 mph with gusts upwards to 30 mph are expected the next couple of days across the Brazos Valley. With dry vegetation, ongoing drought conditions, and windy weather, fire danger remains high the next few highs, so please avoid outdoor burning, follow local burn ordinances, and avoid igniting an open flame or spark across the region. Several counties remain under areawide burn bans across the region.

A Nor-easter blew across New England the Mid-Atlantic States, leading to several few of snow and outages this past weekend and into this week. Unfortunately, this latest cold spell didn’t provide any sort of precipitation (rain relief), but it did cool us off for a couple of days. A secondary weak front arrives Thursday, allowing temperatures to sit around 80° through Friday, before the mid-80s are back on the books this weekend for the Brazos Valley. There some signals that a shakeup in the weather pattern could occur around this time next week (seven or so days out), as a series of disturbances could take advantage of that rain-making moisture. For now, it seems this springy weather (more suitable for March and April) sticks with us through the end of the week and into the upcoming weekend for the Brazos Valley.
