Forecast Discussion:
Thursday ended with clearing skies and on a mild note across Southeast Texas, as our latest weak front settles in the region. Cooler weather is expected overnight, bringing temperatures into the middle-to-upper 50s Friday morning in the Brazos Valley. This cold front brings sunny skies and drier air by Friday, but temperatures still heat up into the lower 80s Friday afternoon across the Brazos Valley. Highs continue to near the middle 80s Saturday and Sunday under an abundance of sunshine. Winds eventually start to turn around back out of the south, leading to our next weather shake up next week and possible rain chance.
While the Brazos Valley is expecting drier weather this weekend, we’re hoping for better rain chances by mid-to-late next week. As high pressure eventually moves out, a series of disturbances roll over the Brazos Valley, sparking a few chances for scattered rainfall through the back half of next week. For now, the rain chance looks to be around 20-30% Wednesday and Thursday (next week). For now, burn bans continue increase across the region, as we’ve been lacking a significant amount of needed rainfall. Drought conditions continue to worsen, as we near the start of the spring season (less than a month away from now) for the Brazos Valley. There are some signals that the first two weeks of March 2026 could feature stormy weather, but we’ll have to see how that shapes up.
