Forecast Discussion:
Moving into the early part of the weekend with warm, windy, and humid weather across the Brazos Valley. By early Saturday, storms are firing up along an inbound cold front across Northwest and North Texas, slowly making it’s way towards the Brazos Valley through the day. However, most of the morning hours and through the middle portion of the day remains quiet for the region, but as we move into the afternoon and evening hours of Saturday, a chance for severe weather, flooding concerns, and large hail are possible for the Brazos Valley.

Saturday and Sunday are expected to bring widespread rainfall, severe weather, and the possibility of flooding to Southeast Texas, making them days to stay weather aware. Pop up showers are possible to begin Saturday morning, but the more widespread activity is possible moving into Saturday afternoon and evening. A combination of daytime heating and where this cold front stalls out determines the heaviest amount of rain totals. As this front stalls, that’ll also become the focal point for additional rounds of rainfall through the end of the weekend. The largest risk for severe weather comes with that initial round of storms Saturday. All modes of severe weather will be possible: downpours, lightning, low-lying/urban flooding, strong wind gusts upwards to 60mph, large hail (up to egg size), and a brief tornado (low risk). Storms possible through Sunday, before we clear out for the weekend. Additional rounds of scattered storms are possible Monday through Wednesday.

5-Day Weather Outlook:
Saturday: High 83. Low 58. Storms. 90% Chance/Rain.
Sunday: High 73. Low 62. Storms. 50% Chance/Rain.
Monday: High 82. Low 67. Mostly Cloudy. 30% Chance/Rain.
Tuesday: High 82. Low 64. Cloudy. 20% Chance/Rain.
Wednesday: High 78. Low 49. Storms. 50% Chance/Rain.
