Forecast Discussion:
A warm, sunny Sunday across the Brazos Valley, as the region is getting prepped for some active weather changes heading into Easter Week. First, clouds increase overnight Sunday into Monday morning, as low temperatures dip around 60° across the Brazos Valley. Warm, Gulf air continues to pour moisture over into Southeast Texas through early week, as southerly winds blow 10-15mph outdoors with gusts upwards to 20mph at times. That added moisture provides the fuel for additional chances for showers and thunderstorms later in the week and into Easter Weekend.
Temperatures continue to trek up the thermometer closer to the 90° mark through the middle of the week across Central and Southeast Texas. However, those readings slowly drop, as cloudier, rainy conditions pick up late week and into the weekend across the Brazos Valley. A series of troughs slide through the Brazos Valley midweek, and again, over Easter Weekend, as high pressure slides east and away from the State of Texas. A nice 40% chance of rain is on the books Easter Weekend, so there shouldn’t be any need to cancel any outdoor plans or egg hunts. Either way, Thursday should bring the best chance for rainfall. We’ll continue to mold out the rain chances over the next few days, but the general thinking is that 2 or 3 of some 7 days could feature nice rain totals.
