Forecast Discussion:
We’ll kickstart the month of June with hot and sunny weather across Central and Southeast Texas. A ridge of high pressure keeps any major rain systems from impacting the Brazos Valley over the next few days, but a few showers to a stray thunderstorm cannot be ruled out during the afternoon/evening hours of each day. At best, we’ll keep a 20% chance for rain on the books through the middle of the week across the Brazos Valley. Of course, this is typical of summertime storms across the Brazos Valley that tend to bring late day chances for rainstorms during the summer months.

Afternoon highs rise into the lower 90s across the Brazos Valley through the next several days, with heat index values lingering the upper 90s to lower 100s, so be sure to use caution during the heat of the day. A surge in tropical moisture, forming around an area of low pressure could increase rain chances heading into the back half of the week and into the upcoming weekend across Southeast Texas. Of course, it’s too early to determine just how well developed this tropical mess gets and where all that moisture is dumped across the Gulf Coast States this week. Either way, we’ll keep at least a scattered rain chance in the books heading into the weekend for the Brazos Valley. For now, I wouldn’t cancel any outdoor plans until we get a better grip on this forecast.
