Forecast Discussion:
Our next weak cold front arrives in the Brazos Valley Sunday. Areas of patchy fog will be possible Sunday morning, before that frontal system rolls through Southeast Texas. Latest model runs likely see this cold front washing out, before it makes into to Interstate 10 in Southeast Texas. As it stalls out, spotty showers and drizzling rain will be possible through mid-morning Sunday. Once the cold front moves through, it washes out the fog and drizzly weather, bringing a slight drop in afternoon highs. Temperatures reach the upper 60s to lower 70s across the Brazos Valley (unseasonable still). If the front doesn’t quite make it to your location, highs likely are likely closer to the 80° mark Sunday afternoon.
Cooler air is quickly pushed aside on Monday, as high pressure rebuilds over the Lone Star State, bringing one of the warmest weeks of the month. Temperatures are likely in the middle-to-upper 70s for Christmas Week across the Brazos Valley. Combined with Gulf moisture, areas of foggy weather are likely several mornings for Christmas Week, making Santa’s journey a bit more hazardous. Mornings are expected in the 50s across the Brazos Valley as well. Overall, a warm, foggy week lies ahead for the holiday.
