Forecast Discussion:
Overnight temperatures cool off through the overnight hours, because of a recent weak cold front that moved through the Brazos Valley Sunday afternoon. Morning temperatures start in the 50s areawide (maybe a few lower 60s) Monday morning. Otherwise, the entire upcoming Christmas holiday week brings warmer, humid weather for the Brazos Valley. A few spotty showers are possible early week, as the sea breeze moves inland over Southeast Texas, but many of us are expected to remain dry through the entire week. In fact, there isn’t any rainfall in the forecast for the next five-to-seven days for the Brazos Valley.
High pressure is expected to influence the forecast, allowing temperatures to climb into the middle-to-upper 70s across the Brazos Valley throughout the entire week. Yes! The Christmas holiday is expected to be very, very unseasonably warm. Mornings are also “blah!” in the 60s across the region. Because of the warm, Gulf moisture pouring over into the atmosphere, areas of patchy fog will be possible through the next several mornings across the Brazos Valley. Please use extreme caution traveling in rural, low-lying areas outside of cities and towns and use your low beams for those early morning commutes. By last week of December (New Year’s holiday), there are some mixed signals of a possible slightly wetter rain pattern for the Southern United States. Overall, a very warm, dry, and foggy Christmas holiday ahead for travelers.
