Forecast Discussion:
Merry, Merry Christmas, Brazos Valley! Of course, a White Christmas isn’t on the books for today–it’s very warm. High pressure continues to influence the forecast for Christmas week, keeping our temperatures rather warm for December standards. With ample moisture on hand, areas of fog will be possible the next few mornings, with a touch more humidity during the afternoon (adding to the heat index). For those out early Christmas morning, use caution on local roadways, turn on your head beams, and allow enough time to get to your destination.

Christmas Day (Thursday) begins with lows around the mid-60s, alongside areas of patchy fog and cloudier conditions across the Brazos Valley. Afternoon highs rebound to a solid 80° Thursday afternoon under clearing skies. More morning fog and a highs of 81° carries us through Kwanzaa (Friday). That weather trend of morning 60s and afternoon 80s carry us through the weekend, before another major cold front arrives in the Brazos Valley to begin the upcoming week. A quick round for showers is possible Sunday night, then a north wind turns around early Monday morning, as lows dip around 40°. Temperatures don’t move much Monday afternoon, struggling to crack the 50°. Another upper 40° day is expected Tuesday, before we move closer to 60° Wednesday. There will be a chance for temperatures to be in the middle 20s to 30s for a couple of mornings next week, so make those outdoor wintry weather preparations.

5-Day Weather Outlook:
Christmas Day: High 80. Low 63. Partly Cloudy.
Kwanzaa: High 81. Low 64. Partly Cloudy.
Saturday: High 81. Low 63. Partly Cloudy.
Sunday: High 80. Low 40. Partly Cloudy.
Monday: ↓ 47. Low 26. Mostly Cloudy.
