Forecast Discussion:
Another hot, mid-80° January day! Sounds about right after a very warm start to the winter season in the Lone Star State. However, we’re fixing to cool things off (a bit) through the weekend, as a weak cold front arrives in the Brazos Valley late Friday into Saturday. Afternoon highs drop some 10-15° back into the lower 80s Saturday afternoon for the Brazos Valley behind that latest cold front. Fire danger is elevated through the weekend, because of drier, windy conditions across the Brazos Valley. Please avoid outdoor burning until further notice.

By early next week, temperatures move into the lower 80s across the Brazos Valley, as high pressure reasserts itself over the State of Texas. By mid-to-late week, a shift in the upper-level weather pattern brings a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms to the Brazos Valley. Temperatures will move back to the status quo: near 70° through the back half of the week and into the following weekend, as mid-January nears. There are some signals this somewhat wet pattern could hold through the the middle portion of the month across the State of Texas, but we will need to mold out the details a bit further before anything is concrete.

5-Day Weather Outlook:
Saturday: High ↓ 70. Low 42. Increasing Clouds.
Sunday: High 68. Low 45. Sunny.
Monday: High 73. Low 58. Mostly Sunny.
Tuesday: High 79. Low 58. Partly Cloudy.
Wednesday: High 79. Low 59. Partly Cloudy.
