Forecast Discussion:
Another warming trend is underway for the Brazos Valley this weekend, as we rang in the New Year with a few cold, crisp mornings and cool afternoons to end the year. The warmer, drier weather the Brazos Valley is trending towards will likely continue through the next seven to ten days (or the first full week of January 2026). In fact, afternoon highs are headed for the lower 80s Friday afternoon across the Brazos Valley, likely putting the day in the record books for our 120-year record keeping history. Either way, sunshine and windy conditions are expected to end the week.

By the weekend, a weak front moves into the Brazos Valley, placing highs in the 70s, once again, for the upcoming weekend. Fire danger will remain highs throughout the weekend, as windy conditions stir up across the State of Texas with that latest frontal system. Highs return into the upper 70s to 80° mark next week, before a possible chance for rainfall arrives by late week and into next weekend, as the next weathermaker moves through the State of Texas. In turn, we could find some cooler, rainier weather heading into the middle of the month. For now, break out the shorts and shades Friday and Saturday.

5-Day Weather Outlook:
Friday: High 82. Low 49. Sunny, Much Warmer.
Saturday: High ↓ 70. Low 42. Sunny.
Sunday: High 68. Low 46. Sunny.
Monday: High 74. Low 57. Mostly Sunny.
Tuesday: High 79. Low 60. Mostly Sunny.
