Forecast Discussion:
A gusty, cool Wednesday across the Brazos Valley, as our next cold front rolled through the State of Texas. Winds relax overnight, as skies clear and this drier, cold airmass sinks into the region. In turn, that brings colder temperatures around the freezing mark (32°) Thursday morning across the Brazos Valley. A light freeze is possible across the far North Brazos Valley (mainly along or north of OSR). Be sure to provide a warm place for your outdoor pets and cover your plants and tender gardens. This isn’t pipe-bursting weather, but it will no doubt require a jacket to get out the door through the back half of the week.

Afternoon highs struggle in the middle 50s Thursday afternoon, before we bounce back into the upper 60s Friday afternoon. However, another cold front arrives just in time for the weekend (late Friday) in the Brazos Valley. Temperatures move back into the middle-to-upper 50s across the Brazos Valley through the upcoming weekend with sunshine in full force. A few showers are possible by Sunday, but significant rainfall isn’t expected across Southeast and Central Texas. By Martin Luther King Jr. week, temperatures continue to sway back and forth between below normal and normal temperatures, as fronts continue to roll into the Brazos Valley every few days. Overall, it seems the winter season is keeping warmer weather away from the region, and allowing us to get that chill we’ve been looking for the better part of December.

5-Day Weather Outlook:
Thursday: High 55. Low 32. Sunny, Cooler.
Friday: High 67. Low 37. Sunny.
Saturday: High 58. Low 34. Mostly Sunny, Cool.
Sunday: High 56. Low 35. Sunny.
MLK, Jr. Day: High 61. Low 38. Mostly Sunny.
