Forecast Discussion:
The next Arctic cold front has swept the Brazos Valley, leading to temperatures to tumble into the middle-to-upper 30s areawide Saturday morning. Even with sunshine, highs only rise into the middle 50s Saturday afternoon across the Brazos Valley. Our largest concern for cold weather comes Saturday night into Sunday morning across Southeast and Central Texas. Temperatures dip below the 32° mark (freezing) and into the middle 20s across the Brazos Valley (especially northward) by Sunday morning. This Arctic front will become a factor in wind chills, with readings in the lower 20s across the Brazos Valley.
A hard freeze is expected across the Northern Brazos Valley, with a freeze expected across the Central and Southern Brazos Valley Sunday morning. Residents should make those wintery weather preparations: wrapping exposed outdoor piping/faucets and bringing in your outdoor pets. Please address your outdoor livestock, gardens, crops, and allow enough time to warm up your vehicles first. Temperatures slowly begin to warm leading into next week near the 60°, before a widespread rain chance arrives midweek for the entire Brazos Valley.
