Forecast Discussion:
The past several weekends have brought Arctic, messy weather to the Brazos Valley, but this upcoming weekend looks to bring warmer, quiet changes. Mornings begin the cool 40s areawide before highs reach the 70s through the weekend. A southerly wind eventually brings in additional Gulf moisture, leading to increasing clouds Saturday night into early Sunday, and a surge in temperatures in the middle 70s each day. While the Brazos Valley has checked out on the colder weather, we’ve been lacking in the rain department the past month or so, and we sure could use some.

High pressure begins to recede eastward early next week, allowing a Pacific low pressure system to slip into the State of Texas. Rain chances are back on the books, as a result, with a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms Tuesday into Tuesday night. Rain totals could bring in a quick quarter inch. There’s a 40% chance for scattered rain activity on the books Tuesday, with a small isolated chance by Wednesday morning. With this being a Pacific low, cooler weather isn’t expected, as highs linger in the 70s through the upcoming Valentine’s Day Weekend. A secondary systema arrives around that time and could bring more rainfall.

5-Day Weather Outlook:
Saturday: High 74. Low 47. Sunny, Warmer.
Sunday: High 75. Low 55. Mostly Sunny.
Monday: High 76. Low 58. Mostly Cloudy.
Tuesday: High 75. Low 57. Cloudy. 40% Chance/Rain.
Wednesday: High 79. Low 55. Mostly Sunny.
