Forecast Discussion:
A breezy, cool, and stellar Sunday underway across the Brazos Valley, as this latest cold front works its magical. Highs struggled to crack the 60° mark Sunday afternoon, as winds run 10-15 mph throughout the day, enhancing fire danger to begin the week. Please avoid outdoor burning through the end of the weekend in the Brazos Valley, as conditions remain dry and windy. Drought conditions continue to linger in the Brazos Valley, but there doesn’t appear to be any rain in sight for the foreseeable future.
One of the coldest mornings Southeast Texas has experienced in recent weeks is expected to start Monday. A combination of calmer, clear, and cool weather will allow temperatures to dip around freezing (32°) Monday morning in the Brazos Valley. Madisonville, TX looks to dip right at freezing. A light freeze and patchy frost is possible across the Northern Brazos Valley sunrise Monday morning. Monday is cooler with highs around 60°, before temperatures reach the 70s Tuesday. Unfortunately, the cooler weather won’t last long, as high pressure heats up back into the 80s by midweek for the Brazos Valley. Beyond midweek, temperatures continue to be warm and rainfall is lacking.
