Forecast Discussion:
Coolish, quiet Sunday turns into a warm, humid start to the upcoming work week across Southeast Texas. Low-level moisture will continue to pull isolated showers overhead across the Brazos Valley Monday and Tuesday, but the chance is only 20%, at best. The next chance for widespread showers and thunderstorms looks to be Tuesday night and Wednesday across the Brazos Valley. We’re looking for an 80% chance for rain coverage in the Brazos Valley on Wednesday, which we’ll likely find the most activity with.
By midweek, this low pressure drags itself over the Lone Star State (finally!) Wednesday night. Severe weather is likely across West Texas, but most of our rain activity holds off until Tuesday night in the Brazos Valley. We’ll monitor for storms streaming into our region Tuesday evening and night, before additional chances for showers and thunderstorms are expected early Wednesday. Rain coverage will be widespread, with rain totals upwards to an additional 1.00″ not ruled out locally in the Brazos Valley. We’ll have to monitor these storms for heavy rainfall, thunder, lightning, high winds, and a severe hail threat. Cooler, sunny weather ushers in behind this front Thursday, as highs fall into the 60s to end the day in the Brazos Valley. A few mornings in the 40s are likely as we begin the weekend and head into the middle of March. Indoor weather is likely Monday through Wednesday, but sunshine and playdown is likely by Thursday through the weekend for spring break.
