Forecast Discussion:
Latest cold front has pushed across the Continental United States, bringing snow across the Northern Plains, with springy storms across the Southern Plains, including Texas midweek. Sunny, mid-60° weather carried us through Thursday afternoon, before a colder night is underway for the Brazos Valley. Clear, calm conditions bring temperatures down to around 40° mark Friday morning. Cool mornings are expected through the weekend, before even colder weather arrives early next week to kick start mid-March.
While the mornings between 50-60° the next few mornings, afternoon highs are reaching the 70s Friday and Saturday, before eventually reaching the middle 80s Sunday afternoon. Sunshine stays with us through the weekend for the Brazos Valley. However, by Sunday night into Monday morning, our next major cold front is slipping into Southeast Texas. Temperatures dip into the middle 30s by Monday morning, before highs rebound into the middle 50s Monday afternoon and middle 60s Tuesday afternoon. There is a chance the northern counties of the Brazos Valley dip around freezing (32°) Tuesday morning, meaning frost is a possibility for some of us in the middle of March 2026. This is likely some of the coldest weather we’ve seen since the fall season, as the winter months have been whether warm for the Brazos Valley, except one major cold snap that occurred during January. Don’t worry! We’ll move back into the 70s and 80s by the back half of the week.
