NUMEROUS RED FLAG WARNINGS AND WIND ADVISORIES HAVE BEEN ISSUES FOR THE BRAZOS VALLEY THRU MONDAY EVENING. Quick thin line of showers and thunderstorms pushed through the Brazos Valley Sunday afternoon, bringing strong wind gusts and a bit of rainfall to end the weekend. Hazy, windy conditions persist through the overnight hours before a gradual clearing occurs Monday across Southeast Texas. North winds whip 15-25mph throughout the day Monday, with wind gusts upwards to 40mph at times. Use caution burning outdoors, as fire weather remains critical through Monday evening. Any open spark or flame can ignite and spread quickly, causing grass or wildfires locally.

This latest cold front sinks colder air into the Brazos Valley Sunday night into Monday morning, tumbling into the upper 30s to 40s around sunrise time. With a howling north wind, it’ll feel chilly, so be sure to grab an umbrella. Highs rebound around 50° Monday afternoon and 60° Tuesday afternoon. The bottom falls out Tuesday morning, as low dip around freezing (32°), with a light frost possible across the Northeastern Brazos Valley. Madisonville, TX likely falls to 31° Tuesday morning. If you’re not a fan of the colder weather, temperatures rebound into the middle 70s midweek, approaching the 90° over the weekend.
