Forecast Discussion:
FIRE WEATHER WATCHES AND WIND ADVISORIES HAVE BEEN ISSUES FOR THE BRAZOS VALLEY THRU MONDAY EVENING. Cloudier, windy, and warm weather carries us through the end of the weekend and into the start of next week for Southeast Texas. Sunday begins with cloudy, windy conditions, as morning lows dip into the middle 50s Sunday morning. However, the warmer, cloudier weather eventually is washed out, by an incoming cold front that is expected to impact the region Sunday and Monday. Once the cold front arrives, north winds race 15-20 mph with gusts upwards to 35-40 mph at times through the beginning of the week. Be sure to avoid outdoor burning, tie down lawn decorations, and use caution on local roadways through Monday.

The impactful cold front drops temperatures from the middle 80s Sunday afternoon, and into the middle 30s (50° difference) by Monday morning in the Brazos Valley. However, before the cold air arrives overnight, a thin line of showers and thunderstorms are possible across the Eastern Brazos Valley (and into East Texas/Louisiana) 5-9PM Sunday evening. Regardless, many of us remain dry through Sunday. Temperatures rebound into the lower 50s Monday afternoon and lower 60s Tuesday afternoon, respectively. Lows bottom out around freezing (32°) Tuesday morning, with a light freeze (for some) and frost (for more) possible across the Brazos Valley. This could be the coldest weather we’ve seen in a lengthy time, however temperatures are back in the middle 70s to upper 80s Wednesday through the weekend.

5-Day Weather Outlook:
Sunday: High 86. Low 38. Partly Cloudy, Windy.
Monday: High ↓ 52. Low 32. Mostly Sunny.
St. Patrick’s Day: High 63. Low 42. Mostly Sunny.
Wednesday: High 75. Low 51.
Thursday: High 83. Low 55.
