DROUGHT INDEX: In the latest Texas Drought Monitor released on Thursday, January 2, 2026, shows worsening drought conditions across Central, Southeast, and South Texas. “Severe” to “Extreme” Drought conditions spread across the Brazos Valley. This latest drought monitor, including it’s samples, were collected on Tuesday. Therefore, the latest round of rainfall will not be measured until next week’s monitor.
