Forecast Discussion:
A warmer, humid start across the Brazos Valley Saturday morning, with lows in the middle 60s and areas of patchy fog possible during the early morning hours. Afternoon highs climb to the 80° mark under mostly cloudy skies, but the main focus for Saturday will be a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms. The timing of these storms look to be during the afternoon hours (the heat of the day) for the Brazos Valley, with heavy downpours, thunder, and lightning. The activity remains scattered-in-nature, with many seeing hit-and-miss storms through the day. Once the sun sets, the storms clear out and another muggy night is on the books.

A series of disturbances will shift through the Brazos Valley Sunday, bringing a chance for widespread coverage of showers and strong thunderstorms during the morning and afternoon. A 70% chance for showers and thunderstorms are on the books Sunday for the Brazos Valley. A line of strong storms could move in from the northwest, bringing heavy rainfall, lightning, gusty winds, and small hail for the North Brazos Valley. The NWS Storm Prediction Center has placed the Brazos Valley is a 1 out of 5 (marginal) risk for severe weather Sunday, but the overall storm threat appears to be low and likely depend on storm materialization. For now, there is no need to cancel any outings, but keep an umbrella handy, as disruptions are likely during the first half of the day.
