Forecast Discussion:
An attached cold front, with a low pressure system, slide across the Southern and Central Plains late week, bringing a round of showers and thunderstorms through the Brazos Valley throughout Friday. Some of us received needed rainfall, while others may were disappointed in the lack of it. Skies are clearing, the rain is gone, and a northeasterly wind is gusting 25 mph to start the upcoming weekend. Saturday kickstarts on a wonderfully chilly note, with morning lows around 50°, feeling colder with that north wind across the Brazos Valley. Highs move into the lower 70s Saturday afternoon under mostly sunny skies locally, providing for a stellar day for the Brazos Valley. Still, there could be damp grass and puddles throughout the day, so use good shoes.

Over the weekend, high pressure influences our forecast across the Brazos Valley, bringing cool, sunny, and tranquil weather. Sunday finds itself sunny and warm, as highs move into the middle 70s across the Brazos Valley. However, those Sunday morning church services are off to a chilly start with lows in the lower 50s across the region under clear skies and a lighter wind. A south wind returns Sunday, pushing highs into the 80s Monday through Wednesday, before another cold front arrives midweek and brings another chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms Wednesday (50%). Temperatures drop into the middle 70s to end the first full week of May 2026. Overall, a nice start to the month with needed rainfall and somewhat coolish weather.
