Forecast Discussion:
Cloudier, windier weather is expected through the overnight hours of Friday, lasting through the weekend across Central and Southeast Texas. The combination bring morning lows in the lower-to-middle 70s across the Brazos Valley, with areas patchy fog across low-lying, rural areas, so use caution during the early morning hours and slowdown locally. A south wind blows 10-15mph with gusts upwards to 25mph through the day Saturday (and the entire weekend across the Brazos Valley, allowing humid, muggy conditions through the start of the week.
Saturday and Sunday afternoons bring hot, humid weather across the Brazos Valley, as afternoon highs fall a few degrees short of the 90° mark each day. Heat index values (feel-like temps) will be feeling hotter in the middle/upper 90s throughout the afternoon hours this weekend, so use extreme caution during the heat of the day and stay hydrated. With the added moisture, a few isolated showers are possible this weekend, but the best chance for scattered to widespread rainfall comes next week. An upper-level weather system will set up over the Central United States, igniting multiple rounds of rainfall this upcoming week. The best chance for heavy rainfall and storms comes Tuesday through Thursday for the Brazos Valley. There are some details that still need to be molded out, so keep an eye on the forecast and radar next week.
