Forecast Discussion:

Overnight storms barreled through Central and Southeast Texas Tuesday night into early Wednesday, bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms that produced straight line winds and some localized flooding concerns midweek. We’ll continue to dry out heading into the back half of the upcoming week across the Brazos Valley, as highs move into the middle/upper 80s Thursday and Friday afternoons under sunny skies. Areas of patchy fog and lows around the 70° mark begin each morning as well. By the weekend, we’ll watch for additional chances for scattered showers and thunderstorms as we enter the home stretch of May 2026.

A ridge of high pressure will build across the State of Texas this weekend, as two areas of low pressure washout. In turn, that’ll lead to additional chances for rainstorms this weekend and into early next week for the Brazos Valley. We’ll hold onto a 30% chance for scattered rainstorms Saturday and Sunday in the Brazos Valley. With high pressure in place, highs move into the upper 80s/near 90° mark (seasonable for late May) this weekend for the region. An isolated rain chance remains on the books as we move into the first week of June 2026, so keep an umbrella handy just in case you run into a healthy downpour, especially during the evening timeframe this weekend and into next week.
