Forecast Discussion:
A FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTH BRAZOS VALLEY THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING. Potential Tropical Cyclone #1 has formed off the Texas Coast early Tuesday, as it continues to swirl in warm Gulf waters midweek. In the Brazos Valley (and much of Southeast Texas), we’ve seen flooding issues over the past 36 or so hours, prompting several flood warnings and advisories. We’ll see clouds increase overnight into Wednesday, as lows reach the lower 70s, but it looks as if the rain chances are beginning to dwindle heading in the back half of the work week. An isolated chance for passing showers and storms is on the books Wednesday through lunchtime, but many of us should remain dry locally. Highs rebound into the lower 90s Wednesday afternoon.
Besides the frontal boundary that became the focal point for heavy rainfall early week, a weak tropical cyclone has formed off the Texas Coast. The NHC has given this system a moderate chance for further development into a tropical storm, as it scoots along the Gulf Coast towards Louisiana during the back half of the week. Even if it doesn’t become a named storm, it’ll produce heavy rains and flooding concerns for the Texas Coast, Mississippi, and Louisiana through the rest of the week. By late week, another weather system approaches the Brazos Valley late Thursday into early Friday, slowly boosting rain chances to kickstart the weekend for some of us. A scattered rain chance continues for Juneteenth and Saturday. Overall, be mindful of the weather and local roads the next few days.
5-Day Weather Outlook:
Wednesday: High 88. Low 75. Mostly Sunny. 20% Chance/Rain.

Sunday: High 92. Low 77. Mostly Sunny.
