Forecast Discussion:
Hoping everyone had a great Independence Day weekend. Hot, drier conditions proved successful across the Brazos Valley Saturday, as afternoon highs move closer to the triple digit mark. Temperatures run in the upper 90s through the remainder of the weekend in the Brazos Valley, with heat index values ranging as high as 105° outdoors because of increased Gulf moisture in the atmosphere and higher humidity levels. Of course, the ongoing heat is the largest issue as the region nears the middle of July 2026 with hot weather, lessened rain chances, and and humid conditions.
Heat advisories likely won’t be issued the next few days, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be hot. Residents can quickly catch heat related illnesses (heat stroke or exhaustion), so please use caution during the heat of the day, take frequent breaks, and stay hydrated at all times. Over the next seven days, rain chances are almost non-existent across the Brazos Valley. There is a chance for a few isolated storms Sunday night, Monday, and Tuesday but a complex of thunderstorms (and a series of weak disturbances) looks to stay well north of the Brazos Valley anyways. A heavy downpours, lighting, and isolated wind gusts are possible with any heavier activity, but the general thinking is that we all remain dry throughout the week.
5-Day Weather Outlook:
Sunday: High 97. Low 78. Mostly Sunny. Heat index: 106°.
Monday: High 96. Low 77. Mostly Sunny. Heat index: 106°.
Tuesday: High 95. Low 77. Mostly Sunny.
Wednesday: High 96. Low 77. Sunny.
Thursday: High 97. Low 77. Sunny.
