Forecast Discussion:
We’re moving into the second half of the week with warmer, drier weather across Central and Southeast Texas. The first half brought heavy rainfall and flooding concerns from the Hill Country and Big Bend Region towards the Gulf Coast. Through the end of the week, scattered rain activity remains on the books, with most of that falling across the Brazos Valley on Thursday. Another half inch of rainfall is possible, complicating already low-lying and roadway flooding from already saturated grounds, rivers, creeks, and streams. Please use caution on local roadways: turn around, don’t drown (at least through Thursday evening).

Over the weekend, a ridge of high pressure will gradually build up over the Southern United States, sliding southward towards Texas. In turn, that’ll increase temperatures, but decrease rain chances for the weekend and into early next week (late July 2026) across the Brazos Valley. Afternoon highs move back into the lower/middle 90s each afternoon, with sunnier skies and hot conditions in place across the Brazos Valley. In addition, heat index values move into the triple digits (exceeding the 100° mark) each day this weekend and into the following week. Mornings are on par (seasonable) in the middle 70s each morning as well through next week across the Brazos Valley. With all this recent rainfall, humidity levels will increase, making it feel more steamy outdoors. Use caution during the heat of the day, take frequent breaks, and drink plenty of water.

5-Day Weather Outlook:
Thursday: High ↑ 89. Low 73. Rainy. 40% Chance/Rain.
Friday: High 90. Low 73. Partly Cloudy. 20% Chance/Rain.
Saturday: High 92. Low 73. Mostly Sunny.
Sunday: High 93. Low 73. Sunny.
Monday: High 94. Low 73. Sunny.
