Forecast Discussion:
A HEAT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR THE ENTIRE BRAZOS VALLEY THROUGH 7PM TUESDAY. An upper-level ridge of high pressure sits to the northeast of the Brazos Valley, driving up temperatures, increasing humidity levels, and shutting off rain chances through much of the week. A few isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible across the Brazos Valley through the next few afternoons. Over the next several afternoons, temperatures climb into the upper 90s across the entire Brazos Valley, with heat index values rising above 105°. As a result, heat advisories have been issued for the entire Brazos Valley through Tuesday evening.

By the weekend, the Brazos Valley will monitor two areas of low pressure–one centered across the Eastern Gulf that could bring drier air to wrap up the week, and another low trough moving into the Lower 48. While it won’t do much for this heat, it does open the door for a future fall cool front that could move through the Brazos Valley sometime next week. In turn, rain chances could also be boosted as the Brazos Valley enters the back half of the month. For now, break out the shades and shorts for the week.
