Forecast Discussion:
Another hot afternoon across the Brazos Valley, as temperatures moved into the middle/upper 90s Friday afternoon and early evening. Drier air is expected to filter into the atmosphere over the weekend, bringing comfortable mornings and less humid afternoons across the Brazos Valley. Morning temperatures dip into the seasonable upper 60s to middle 70s areawide by Sunday morning because of a low to our east filtering in coolish air.

The afternoon could be less humid but still very hot for late September standards across Southeast Texas. Though temperatures are on the hotter side of the 90s, heat index values will feel much closer to the actual reading on the thermometer outdoors areawide. The latest model runs on a possible Autumn cold front is still showing it falling short of North Texas, as high pressure influences our forecast and essentially locks us out of touching that block of cooler air, especially early next week. For now, highs are a few degrees short of the century mark throughout much of next week, as we flip the calendar to the fall season.

5-Day Weather Outlook:
Saturday: High 98. Low 71. Sunny. Heat index: 104°.
Sunday: High 97. Low 74. Sunny. Heat index: 104°.
Monday: High 96. Low 74. Mostly Sunny.
Tuesday: High 97. Low 74. Sunny.
Wednesday: High 95. Low 73. Mostly Sunny.
