Forecast Discussion:
Through the upcoming week, the Brazos Valley will be falling into fall… at least during the morning hours each day this week. After a gloomy and rainy weekend, dry and sunny weather carries us throughout most of the upcoming week across Central and Southeast Texas. This latest cold front is moving offshore into Gulf water, as high pressure fills in behind it across Texas. Sunny and comfortable weather is expected through the upcoming week.
While the sunny skies do heat up our afternoons into the middle/upper 80s through the week and into the weekend, the mornings are the real treat for the Brazos Valley. The drier air is expected to bring crisp-cool mornings in the lower/middle 60s areawide this week, which is very seasonable for early October standards in Central and Southeast Texas.
By next weekend, rainy weather could return to the Brazos Valley, as an organized area of low pressure builds over the Western Gulf over the next several days. The overall chances for development modest, but any local impacts to the Brazos Valley look low for now. Regardless, we may see some rain chances spring up in the forecast to begin the weekend. We’ll keep track of this system over the next several days and get a better handle on when, and if, these rain chances develop.
