Forecast Discussion:
A few isolated storms are possible Saturday evening into the overnight hours, as several disturbances tap into warm, rich Gulf moisture funneling out of the Gulf. Much of the heaviest activity has been happening across North & Northeast Texas through the weekend. Many of us remain dry through the overnight hours into Sunday morning, but any stronger storm activity could produce heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and small hail across the Brazos Valley. Otherwise, clouds and morning fog is possible across the Brazos Valley through Sunday morning, as morning temperatures dip into around the muggy 70° mark locally.
Sunday is expected to a very warm, humid day across the Brazos Valley, as highs reach the 90° Sunday afternoon. A few spotty storms roaming the Brazos Valley due to daytime heating cannot be ruled out during the afternoon hours. A continued to chance for isolated, hit and miss activity is expected throughout the week across Southeast Texas, as disturbances pass overhead and a cold front approaches us this week. Temperatures continue to feel summerlike, approaching the lower 90s across the region each day this week, with heat index values feeling like the triple digits, because of that warm, moist Gulf air and added moisture. Be sure to use caution outdoors this week, avoid the hottest hours of the day, and drink plenty of water. There is some suggestion that a major cold front drops temperatures into the 70s late next weekend across the Brazos Valley, but we’ll have to monitor that.
