Forecast Discussion:
Hot and humid weather finished up Monday evening across Brazos Valley, as another round of clouds moved in and kept the storm activity to a minimum locally. Tuesday brings a similar storm pattern: waiting around to see if any afternoon storms can start up because of the available moisture and hot weather. If any storms do pop up, strong wind gusts and small hail cannot be ruled out. Overall, the storm chance is 20% at best for the Brazos Valley. Afternoon highs race up the thermometer again into the lower 90s Tuesday afternoon across Central and Southeast Texas, which is some of the hottest temperatures we’ve experienced all year.

Two cold fronts will move through the Brazos Valley before the end of the weekend. Our first cold front arrives in the Brazos Valley midweek, bringing a chance for showers and thunderstorms Thursday and Friday. This latest front, weak in nature, will bring a scattered chance for showers and thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon and evening. Stronger storms could produce heavy rain, gusty winds, and hail across the Brazos Valley. Thursday could be an impactful day, depending on where this cold front stalls out or if it retreats across Southeast Texas. Still, scattered showers and storms remain possible once again. Friday brings our greatest chance for widespread showers and thunderstorms to the Brazos Valley ahead of a weekend cold front that also looks to drop temperatures. Drier weather and highs in the upper 60s to middle 70s across the Brazos Valley are possible Friday through Sunday. Of course, we cannot rule out a stray storm Saturday (20%). Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday look to be impactful days across the Brazos Valley, so use caution and watch the radar.
