Forecast Discussion:
Moving into Memorial Day Monday with lessened rain chances, but we cannot rule out a few isolated showers and storms through the day Monday across the Brazos Valley. The chance is only 30% chance in coverage, however and many of us are expected to remain hot and dry throughout the day. The best chance comes around lunchtime through the evening hours. Rain chances diminish with the loss of daytime heating. Sunny skies take us into the upper 80s across the Brazos Valley Monday afternoon with a calm northeast wind around 5mph.

A series of disturbances (multiple low pressure systems) funnel additional storm chances into the Brazos Valley moving throughout the upcoming week. Our best chance for widespread showers and thunderstorms comes Wednesday, when there is a 100% chance for rain on the books for the Brazos Valley. Isolated showers and thunderstorms continue off and on throughout the rest of the week as well. Similar to last week, with these disturbances moving overhead, it’ll be difficult to time out and locate these storms too far ahead (24 hours or more out). Severe weather is limited, but not completely off the books, but the rainfall risk will be our largest concern as well as possible localized flooding. Through the week, highs are generally in the 80s with morning lows around the 70° mark each morning as we wrap up May 2026.
