Forecast Discussion:
The sea breeze has pushed scattered showers and thunderstorms from the Gulf Coast, northward towards the Brazos Valley Wednesday afternoon and evening. This latest round of rain isn’t as heavy as Tuesday’s storms that caused severe-warned storms locally, but it could compound the flooding concern heading into the upcoming weekend for the Brazos Valley. Temperatures remain seasonable through the remainder of the week and into the upcoming weekend: in the middle/upper 80s across the Brazos Valley under cloudier skies and wetter conditions.
Rain coverage continues through the rest of the week and heading into the upcoming weekend for the Brazos Valley. Deep, rich tropical moisture will move inland from the Gulf of Mexico over the weekend. In turn, that’ll lead to tropical downpours as early as Friday, but more likely for Saturday and Sunday in the Brazos Valley, as low pressure moves in from the west. Overall, there is liable to be disruptions throughout the weekend, but we’ll monitor for those heavier rainstorms as well. Temperatures also continue to be “cooler” in the 80s areawide through the weekend. Fewer rain chances and more heat is back on the books this weekend.
