Forecast Discussion:
After a couple of week of active weather, including flooding rainfall across Central and Southeast Texas, drier weather is taking over. Additionally ,the summer season officially started across the Brazos Valley Sunday, and its feeling very much like it locally. With added humidity, clouds, and a south wind, the mornings won’t “cool” down across the area as quickly. Morning temperatures run in the middle 70s across the Brazos Valley this week. Following a similar pattern through the week, morning clouds give away to sunnier skies by the afternoon hours as well. Afternoon highs reach the lower/middle 90s across the region each afternoon, with heat index values climbing into the triple digits. Please use caution during the heat of the day and drink plenty of water.

The hot, drier weather pattern is likely to stick around through the week and into next weekend across the Brazos Valley. The humidity still won’t been as immense as the previous week, as heat index readings stay away from advisory levels. Temperatures crank up throughout the week, as an upper-level ridge of high pressure builds across the Lone Star State. By the weekend, temperatures will likely climb closer to the 90° mark locally. The ridge also keeps rain chances obsolete through the week as well. With rain chances away, summer heat is at play! Overall, we’re likely wrapping up the last seven days of the June very hot and drier conditions.
