Forecast Discussion:
Temperatures gradually increase through the next several days across Central and Southeast Texas, as a ridge of high pressure balloons over the Lone Star State. Over the weekend, high temperatures could move into the upper 90s to almost 100° during the afternoon hours of Saturday and Sunday. As that high pressure transitions over the next the next few days, a calmer wind should bring temperatures down a few degrees during Thursday and Friday mornings. Many of us could wake up below the 75° mark late week in the Brazos Valley. With these “cooler” readings, a calm wind, and abundant moisture, areas of patchy fog could kickstart the mornings, with the most likely day being Thursday morning. Be sure to use caution on the roads very early in the morning.

A small plume of Saharan Dust from West Africa could be see across the skies of the Brazos Valley Wednesday afternoon and evening. However, the largest concentration of dust can be expected by early next week for the region. The combination of high pressure and Saharan Dust keeps the rain chances very, very slim through the next seven or so days in the Brazos Valley. Be sure to use caution, both during the heat, and during the dusty days. Overall, the summer season is starting hot and hazy.
