Forecast Discussion:
Hot, hazy weather continues into the weekend for the Brazos Valley. Thursday brought a little Saharan dust and some smoke from wildfires, but the largest concentration of Saharan Dust funneling through the Gulf looks to arrive early next week for Southeast Texas. Additionally, this high pressure system over Texas is steering wildfire smokes our way, reaching the higher elevation levels of the skies and keeping air quality more moderate for those with sensitive of respiratory issues. Over the weekend, this dome of high pressure (shifting east) could push temperatures to the higher end of the 90s and closer to the 100° for some in the Brazos Valley.

Over the next week, this ridge also keeps rain chances non-existent for the Brazos Valley. Next, it’ll also keep those temperatures hot in the 90s, with heat index values in the low 100s across Southeast Texas, so please use caution, take frequent breaks, and stay hydrated throughout the day. By next week, temperatures could level out, with additional shower chances, as that high pressure system weakens, but its still too early to lock down any specifics for the Brazos Valley. Overall, the rain chances have gone quiet, and the summer heat is cranking up as we near July 2026.

5-Day Weather Outlook:
Friday: High 93. Low 75. Mostly Sunny. Heat index: 103°.

Sunday: High 95. Low 76. Mostly Sunny.
Monday: High 96. Low 75. Mostly Sunny.
Tuesday: High 96. Low 75. Sunny.
