Forecast Discussion:
Summertime heat, humidity, and hazy skies are expected through much of the upcoming week across Central and Southeast Texas. High pressure is shifting eastward, bringing in another (and large) plume of Saharan dust into the Brazos Valley through the middle of the week. Besides the hazy, milky skies, colorful sunsets are on the books across the Brazos Valley each evening, so be sure to snap a quick photograph and send it our way! Air quality could be temporary impacted Tuesday and Wednesday, so those with sensitive allergies or respiratory issues should limit outdoors activities. Through the rest of the week, afternoon highs climb into the middle/upper 90s, with heat index values in the 100s expected.
Rain chances also remain slim to non-existent to end the month of June 2026 for Southeast Texas, allowing to wrap it up with hot and drier conditions. By early July, high pressure jogs northeast, allowing a series of weak disturbances to jolt the atmosphere and bring additional isolated rain chances in the Brazos Valley. However, widespread rainfall isn’t expected locally, but isolated showers and afternoon storms are possible each day, but the chance is only 20% at best for the Brazos Valley. For now, the extended forecast features hot, hazy, and drier conditions, so use caution outdoors, take frequent breaks, and stay hydrated.
