Forecast Discussion:
Many remain dry through the upcoming weekend, but a few rain chances are on the books anyways for Central and Southeast Texas. Stronger storms have developed over Louisiana Wednesday evening and most of that should remain east of us, however a few isolated storms could crawl into the Brazos Valley overnight into Thursday. A 20% chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms are on the books Thursday, but mostly everyone stays dry. A quick trace to a quarter inch is possible either way. Regardless, high temperatures move into the 90s areawide with a 100°+ heat index to finish up Thursday afternoon and evening in the Brazos Valley.

The main focus of our forecast through early July is the never ending heat across the Brazos Valley. Afternoon highs move into the middle 90s Thursday and Friday afternoons, with temperatures reaching the upper 90s by Independence Day Weekend. With more moisture in the atmosphere that has fueled additional storm chances this weekend, heat index values are in the triple digits. By Fourth of July Saturday, heat indices are treading heat advisory levels, so an advisory may be issued for the holiday weekend. By next week, highs are closer to the 100° mark, with a few isolated storm chances on the books each afternoon and evening. For now, use extreme caution in this heat, stay hydrated, and take frequent breaks during the extremities of the day.

5-Day Weather Outlook:
Thursday: High 93. Low 75. Mostly Sunny. 20% Chance/Rain.
Friday: High 94. Low 76. Mostly Sunny.
Fourth of July: High 95. Low 76. Sunny.
Sunday: High 95. Low 75. Mostly Sunny. 20% Chance/Rain.
Monday: High 94. Low 75. Mostly Sunny. 20% Chance/Rain.
