Forecast Discussion:
Summertime weather continues into the Independence Day holiday weekend across the Brazos Valley. However, rainfall coverage is limited moving into the weekend across Southeast Texas, but that doesn’t mean a daytime thunderstorm or two can be ruled out. A trace to a quick quarter inch of rain is possible across the Brazos Valley. Otherwise, the conversation for the upcoming Independence Day weekend will be the ongoing heat and humidity locally.

Temperatures linger in the middle/upper 90s throughout the Fourth of July holiday weekend across Central and Southeast Texas. Afternoon highs are expected to be hotter this weekend, likely flirting with the triple digit mark for some counties. Most moisture in the atmosphere not only means limited rain chances, but heat index values climb as high as 105° outdoors over the weekend. Hot and humid weather continues into the following week, as isolated rain chances return Monday and Tuesday in the Brazos Valley before a long stretch of hotter weather heading into the second and third full weeks of July 2026.
