Forecast Discussion:
Moving into the weekend with sunny, summertime weather across the Brazos Valley. However, we’ve got some weather changes to the forecast, as rain chances move back into the area. This latest high pressure down that has brought very hot and dry conditions to the Brazos Valley has slowly receded westward, allowing a summertime “cool” front and low pressure to move into the Southeastern United States this weekend. Most of the day should be on a drier note, but there is a chance at some point for scattered rain activity across the Brazos Valley through Saturday. Either way, sunshine and highs around 100° are still on the books to wrap up the weekend.

The intensity of this latest round of scattered showers and thunderstorms will depend on when this frontal system approaches the Brazos Valley today, which models are having a hard time trying to fine tune. If this front arrives early afternoon, the heat and energized atmosphere could create stronger thunderstorms for the area, but an earlier arrival could limit storm potential and keep mostly showers on the books for the day. While severe weather isn’t expected, any stronger storms could produce heavy downpours, frequent lightning, strong wind gusts, and a quick half inch of rainfall for the Brazos Valley. Overall, keep an umbrella handy, but most of us will be sweltering in this heat to end the weekend and move into the first week of August 2026.

5-Day Weather Outlook:
Saturday: High 99. Low 73. Mostly Sunny. 30% Chance/Rain.

Monday: High 100. Low 75. Sunny, Hot.
Tuesday: High 99. Low 76. Sunny.
Wednesday: High 97. Low 75. Sunny.
