Forecast Discussion:
An additional day to find a few spotty showers and isolated thunderstorms are on the agenda for Wednesday for Coastal Texas, with a few of those spotty rainstorms possible across Walker, San Jacinto, and Montgomery Counties as well. A few heavy downpours, rumbles of thunder, and lightning is possible before the end of the day, especially south of Interstate 10 towards the coast. If you’re further north, the chances of finding any sort of rainfall is pretty slim moving through the rest of the week.

The largest issue is high pressure sliding across the Southeastern United States through the end of the week, effectively ending rain chances for the Brazos Valley and Southeast Texas. On the other side, building high pressure will increase temperatures through the weekend and even into the following week (mid-August). Afternoon highs move away from the seasonable mid-90s into the upper 90s/lower 100s over the next seven or so days. With hot temperatures, a lack of rainfall, and breezy winds, fire danger is elevated through the weekend, so please keep the outdoor burning out of your plans. Several counties in the Brazos Valley are under burn bans, including Madison, Houston, and Leon Counties.
