Forecast Discussion:
Passing showers pushed into the Brazos Valley but stopped short of OSR Thursday morning. There was a brief break in the activity before a weakened frontal system moved through the Brazos Valley, bringing additional showers and thunderstorms during the evening hours for a select few of us. Heavy downpours and gusty winds were found across portion of Walker, Grimes and Madison Counties. However, is the rain expected to continue into the weekend. Well, the chances aren’t looking great!
Thursday afternoon has brought an additional day of triple-digit heat in the Brazos Valley. Another 100° day is expected Friday afternoon and evening, as sunshine cranks up the daytime heating across Southeast Texas. With the added humidity, heat index values climb as high as 110° outside to end the week. Over the weekend and through next week, highs are back in the upper 90s across the Brazos Valley, as high pressure slowly slides westward. An isolated shower or storm is possible Friday and Saturday but most of the area is expected to remain dry locally. Be sure to follow local burn ban ordinances, and, if you aren’t under a burn ban, outdoor burning is highly discouraged anyways.
