Forecast Discussion:
While the rain department hasn’t been fantastic, we’ll keep an isolated shower and thunderstorm chance in the forecast for the Brazos Valley through the remainder of the week and into the upcoming weekend. Whether you find those bleak rain chances or not, the heat will make up for it locally, as afternoon highs move into the middle/upper 90s through the upcoming weekend and into the following week (moving towards mid-September). The added moisture only increases humidity levels, allowing afternoon highs to range 100°-105° outdoors each day.

By late this week, upper-level high pressure continues to shift eastward and away from the Brazos Valley. In turn, this allows tropical moisture to move into the upper Texas coastline, but some models suggest it won’t move beyond that, meaning rain chances won’t be as persistent through the extended forecast and remain isolated at best in the Brazos Valley. Either way, a 20% chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms is on the books throughout the rest of the week and into the weekend. By next week, high pressure breaks down, disturbances roll through, and temperatures could become slightly “cooler” (on the lower side of the 90s). Either way, highs remain in the 90s and rain chances remain bleak.
