Forecast Discussion:
Wednesday brought another 100° day across the Brazos Valley, followed by a middle/upper 90° day Thursday. A few weather changes bring drier air into the Brazos Valley Friday, keeping rain chances away through the start of the upcoming week. This latest low over the Eastern Gulf filters in that drier air, leading to less humidity and temperatures dropping around the 95° mark across the Brazos Valley through the weekend. Morning lows sit around the 70° mark Friday through Sunday locally, with a less muggy feel outside in the Brazos Valley.

Temperatures are still in the middle/upper 90s across Southeast Texas moving into the upcoming week. Temperatures through the weekend, at least, will feel like the actual reading on the thermometer because of that drier air arriving on a tropical low. Sadly, that fall front many were hoping for doesn’t look to move pass North Texas, as high pressure sits over the region next week. Model data is keeping a weak signal on that cooler air, meaning those temperatures stay in the 90s through much of late September for the Brazos Valley. For now, we’ll keep hoping for a cooler start to October 2026, while we apply the sunscreen and shades across Central and Southeast Texas.
