Forecast Discussion:
A FLOOD WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR MILAM COUNTY THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING. We’re entering the month of October with a multiday rain event for Central and Southeast Texas, that should last through the end of the weekend. Leftover moisture from Pacific Hurricane Polo, merges with Gulf moisture, and an approaching fall cold front, to produce heavy rain rates and flash flooding for the Brazos Valley. First, afternoon highs move into the middle 90s Thursday afternoon, with morning lows in the muggy middle 70s and cloudier skies for the Brazos Valley.

The timing of this cold front will need to be adjusted over the next few days, but the general consensus in that this frontal system brings widespread rainfall Thursday through Saturday for the Brazos Valley. Rain chances pick up Thursday afternoon into early Friday morning. We’ll hold onto an 80% chance for widespread showers and thunderstorms in the forecast Thursday through Saturday in the Madisonville, TX area. The further west you go, the more likely you’ll find heavier rain rates, especially across Central and East Texas. Several inches of rainfall are possible, and excessive rainfall could lead to flooding issues on local roadways through the beginning of the weekend. Be sure to stay weather aware through the weekend and have a way to receive local weather alerts.

5-Day Weather Outlook:
