Forecast Discussion:
Cooler mornings are underway for the Brazos Valley this week, as this latest cold front sink’s drier air into the area. Dewpoints are in the 50s, with morning temperatures ranging the middle 60s throughout the remainder of the work week locally. With a lack of cloud cover, sunshine heats temperatures up around the 90° mark through the back half of the week in the Brazos Valley. In this trend continues, even with a low end chance for rain on the books for the Brazos Valley by the middle of the month.

With temperatures staying toasty during the afternoon hours, a few isolated chances for rain are possible late week and into the upcoming weekend for the Brazos Valley. Gulf-fueled moisture from now Tropical Storm Isais will provide some of that rain-making moisture for East and Southeast Texas. Throughout this week, Tropical Storm Isais likely tracks northward before becoming a category 1 or 2 storm before landfall along the central Gulf Coast. We’ll try and squeeze out a quick 20% chance of rain this weekend, but Isais and most of the rain associated with it with remain east of the state of Texas. Being on the backside of this system allows drier air to filter in behind it, bringing cool mornings and warm afternoons through the foreseeable future.
