Forecast Discussion:
Temperatures moved into the lower 90s Thursday afternoon, with sunny and drier skies in full force for the Brazos Valley. The mornings are the best time to really reap in the benefits of this latest cold front that reached Central and Southeast Texas. With drier air in filtering into the area, dewpoints drop into the 50s and 60s across the Brazos Valley, allowing temperatures to really cool off during the overnight hours. Temperatures dip into the 60s areawide throughout the weekend across the Brazos Valley. With the lack of clouds, sunshine heats our temperatures up quickly into the upper 80s to lower 90s areawide through the weekend.
While warmer afternoons are on the books for the State of Texas, all eyes are on Category 2 Hurricane Isaias, tracking towards the Central Gulf Coastline this weekend. This tropical system will continue to jog northward before making landfall along the Alabaman and Floridian Coastline late Friday night into early Saturday morning. This system is expected to bring drier air to the State of Texas, since the state is on the western side of it, leading to cool mornings and toasty afternoons through the weekend. Local rain chances return by the following week, as we approach the middle of October in the Brazos Valley.
