Forecast Discussion:
We’re continuing the trend of hot weather, as the Brazos Valley prepares some changes by mid-October 2026. A surge in Gulf moisture makes it feel more summerish than fall outside, especially as afternoon temperatures move towards the middle 90s throughout the upcoming week. A few passing showers and rumbles of thunder are possible by mid-to-late week, as Gulf moisture prepares those skies with warm, moist air each day across the Brazos Valley. However, some cooler changes are on the horizon, especially by the upcoming weekend.
Mornings are warmer in the 70s areawide throughout the week, as the heat and humidity builds outdoors, especially around the hottest portion of the day. Be sure to drink plenty of water and avoid the hotter hours of the day. While we ride out this mini heat wave, our next cold front arrives in the Brazos Valley by the start of the upcoming weekend. Cooler, drier air filters in the Brazos Valley, starting Friday and lasting through the extended forecast. The exact timing and type of temperatures we’ll be dealing with is still being molded out, but the latest model data suggest mornings 50s and highs in the 70s are possible by late October. Sunny skies are also on the books, as we look towards a spectacular weekend for the Texas Mushroom Festival in Madisonville, TX.
